Description: Using this add-on you can display video from almost any device that has an S-video or composite video input connector, or display a live video stream from any connected IP camera, anywhere in the world!
If your system is a LAN based system (where the Manager communicates with the Players over a LAN, and not over an FTP), then you may NOT need this add-on. Download & save this document to your desktop then follow the instructions in it to set up a LAN based streaming option.
IMPORTANT: BEFORE purchasing this add-on, ask us for a Trial code to test it on your system. Some streaming/hardware combinations may result in the Player freezing after hours/ days of use. You must test this feature BEFORE purchasing.
- Use devices such as a Cable box; VCR; external DVD Player; Camcorder, Webcam and almost any other device that can output video through one of these connectors (S-video or Composie). (Note: S-video input delivers better quality than composite input).
- USB devices used during testing include: 1. "Video To DVD Maker" by kaiserbaas, 2. Kworld DVD Maker 2 USB capture device. 3. "Roxioeasy VHS to DVD/CS" (Rev b), We do NOT however endorse or warrant any.
- Each Player PC needs its own device. The Manager PC will also need a device.
- When using an IP camera, the camera just needs to be connected to the Player PC’s LAN or available via the internet.
- Accepts wired or wireless IP cameras.
- Only one video capture device and one IP camera can be connected to one Player.
- To play TV using this feature (without the need for a TV Tuner card), you will need an external TV tuner such as a VCR (which has a tuner built-in), and then use the VCR to tune to a channel and select a channel. The VCR must then be plugged into the Player PC via a standard composite or s-video input. Similarly a suitable cable-box can be used to play cable TV.
- LIMITATION: Only ONE instance of Cable TV, DVD etc (using the Video Capture device) can be played at any one time per Player PC. You will be warned of overlapping schedules.
- We recommend DirectShow-compatible video capture cards with WDM drivers.
This is a once-off fee that applies across your entire network.
